As a person interested in chiropractic care, you may already know that an adjustment from our Birmingham chiropractor, Dr. Scott Duca can help with pain relief. However, many of our patients ask us about exactly what goes into a chiropractic adjustment and how it works to help relieve your neck pain, headaches, back pain, or tingling and numbness sensations. We are here to answer any of your questions regarding what chiropractic adjustment is and how it can help our Birmingham, Homewood, Vestavia, Hoover, and Mountain Brook clients to achieve wellness and live without pain. When you visit our offices here at Back On Track Chiropractic for the first time, we will have an in depth discussion with you about exactly what type of pain you have, and about the location and duration of the pain. Dr. Duca will then examine you as he seeks out the reason for the pain. After the origin of the pain is discovered (in many cases pain results from back or neck vertebrae that have come out of alignment), Dr. Duca will use very gentle methods of "hands on" care to adjust the vertebrae causing the issues. In some cases Dr. Duca will use a special instrument to move the joints of the spine into ideal alignment and in others he will use only his hands.
The procedure is different for each patient and we are committed to customizing treatment according to your unique needs. As Dr. Duca skillfully manipulates your spine it will relieve the pressure that the misalignment has caused. Many times a compressed nerve is the result of joint and disc problems and as soon as the spine is back in proper alignment the nerve will no longer be sending pain signals, so pain can be relieved.
Chiropractic care frequently begins to reap rewards for patients almost as soon as treatment begins. As Dr. Duca and our staff work with you, pain will be reduced and often completely eliminated.
